Eyes are the windows into the soul—so it has been said. If you’ve ever looked into your loved one’s eyes or your pet’s eyes, you would surely agree with this statement. The warmth and trust in their eyes speak volumes about their love for us. As we grow older, our eyes lose their freshness; we look tired and, sometimes, we are even selective in what we see.
Eyes are the focus of this year’s book. Returning to the magic, mystery, wackiness and weirdness that we had in our first book in 2018, Spiral Through Time, this book features the macabre, creepy and even downright bizarre.
We ask that you leave reality behind and let your imagination soar as you go from story to story. Above all, we hope you find the book entertaining.
This is the sixth year that the Junior Writers Programme has been held. All 20 writers worked hard to whip up a story, with some having to amend their tales along the way. Through the seven months, they learned how to develop a story and explore all angles while collaborating with an editor.
As with previous years, the royalties from the sale of this book go to charity. This year’s recipient is Yayasan Chow Kit, a non-profit organisation serving the needs of children and teens in the Chow Kit area of Kuala Lumpur.
Congrats to this year’s Junior Writers for having collectively authored a book. May this only be the start of your journey into writing, collaboration, and using your talents to help the disadvantaged. Your future is bright. Treat each setback as a learning experience and keep moving forward.
